Police are trying to trace a van driver who approached a schoolgirl in Redruth.

The stranger stopped his blue Transit to talk to the ten year old in Close Hill just after 8am on Monday morning.

The girl had a short conversation with him, before running away and reporting it.

Police are praising the way she acted.

They are trying to identify the man thought to be between 30 and 35 wearing a Quiksilver hoodie and baseball cap.

Officers admit that no crime may have been committed but say they would like to find the person involved.

Anyone with information is being asked to call 101 and quote reference AC/12/4842.
