The tills are alive with the sound of Christmas.

Cornwall is expecting its busiest shopping day of the year on Saturday, as we grab last minute presents.

Jane Fisher runs a women's clothing store in Liskeard and says traders have been holding out for a festive boost: "Times are getting harder and trade is getting slower and the footfall is getting less. Everybody wants a Christmas boost. Whether it's going to happen is another thing so fingers crossed and hope people do come out in the towns and support their local shops and their local traders who are struggling to keep their heads above water.

"It's a struggle and it's a struggle for every business and I think if anybody says otherwise, I don't think that's right, I think everybody's struggling. It will be make or break for a lot of people, I think, everywhere, but I think for me and for what I sell, my busy time starts after Christmas."
