The search for a new Chief Constable for Cornwall and Devon is speeded up to stop the best candidates being snatched.
Other parts of the country are also in the process of appointing a new top cop.
Southwest Police and Crime Commissioner Tony Hogg wants the best brought here: "The essence of this job is the excellent working relationship between the Chief Constable and the Police and Crime Commissioner and together with partners out there, those two individuals can really make a difference to policing in this policing area."
