Cornwall's New Year Drink Drive Warning

Cornish partygoers are warned the consequences of drink-driving can be "absolutely devastating".
It is as the Duchy gears up to celebrate New Years' Eve.
We are being advised to take it easy on the roads, especially after the recent downpours.
Deputy Chief Fire Officer Paul Walker says it is not worth taking the risk:
"Driving conditions are more challenging. Please don't add alcohol to that mix because that has the potential to have real serious consequences. Road safety is important. Think about your speed, don't use your mobile phones and certainly don't drink and drive.
"We just encourage people not to go out and drink and then drive because the consequences are just devastating. People should be aware of how it can wreck lives and the impact it can have on family, friends, and neighbours and on the wider economy."
