Rugby: Duchy Derby Day
9:21am 9th February 2013
(Updated 9:21am 9th February 2013)
Redruth and Launceston do the derby
The Cornish All Blacks lost last weekend whereas the Reds travel to Polson after beating top-of-the-table Worthing.
They are third in the league and forwards' coach Ashley Morcom wants to climb higher:
"I think if we go away with a win this weekend we could potentially start pushing for promotion which is on the cusp of everybody's tongue anyway. So I think we can come away with a big win four points - hopefully five.
"As a coaching team we need to start putting things into place, just in case we do go up. That's the reason why I'm involved in rugby, it's to win. Financially it may be a bit of a struggle for us but we've got to take the chance while we've got it."
Meantime, the Cornish All Blacks are out for revenge after defeat in last September's Duchy derby.
Number eight, Josh Lord, said: "The game at the start of the season was a massive disappointment for us. As a team, we underachieved, so we now want to try and right some wrongs. I think pretty much since it's been postponed at Christmas, the boys have been having one eye on this fixture since then. It's one of the highlights of the season really.
"Once you get into a run of form, you get that winning habit, that's hard to break, but then form sort of goes out of the window a little on a derby day. It's really down to guts, determination and who makes the least mistakes really. They've never won at Polson Bridge in the League, and we definitely don't want to make it the first time."
