Launceston hospital has reopened after a Legionnaire's scare.

Bosses say the whole water system has been upgraded and cleaned out.

20 beds have been closed since mid February, putting pressure on bed blocking at Treliske.

Graham Webster from Health Initiative Cornwall said it is a continuing challenge for officials:

"They're going to have to take a long, hard look to see exactly what we've got and where we are and try to address this problem. And build in resilience to the system, so that our whole healthcare system here in Cornwall is able to cope when it's put under pressure.

"The problem that we have is that we no longer had any spare capacity or resilience in the system. So when we're faced with a crisis bought about by Norovirus, high levels of staff sickness, unfortunately the system is not able to cope."
