Police Charges Over Newquay Drugs Haul
7:01am 4th May 2013
A man has been charged with supply of cannabis after police seized a haul of drugs in Newquay.
Police found the cannabis with a street value of £7,000 after stopping a vehicle driving erratically along Henver Road in December.
Officers noted a strong smell of cannabis and searched the vehicle.
A 51 year old local man has now been charged with the supply of cannabis, possession of a Taser and resisting arrest.
Inspector Dave Meredith, from Devon and Cornwall Police, said: "This was an excellent stop check and I am delighted with the vigilance of the Response officers who first noted the offender driving in an erratic manner.
"This was a significant seizure of controlled drugs which will have an impact on local drug networks."
