Was it a bird? Was it a plane? No - it was a meteor.

Witnesses in the Duchy have reported a greenish light streaking across the skies last night.

Scientists reckon it was probably debris from Halley's comet.

Steve from St Austell told Pirate FM: "I was just dropping my work colleague off and I was going up the hill, it must have been around 9.50pm or something like that. It looked like it was going quite slow. It definitely looked like a shooting star."

So did he make a wish?: "My Mother said that and I said 'No I didn't'. I didn't know you had to be honest. I should have wished on my lottery numbers last night!.
