Bob McCreadie Headshot

Bob McCreadie

Bob McCreadie was born at an early age in Southend on Sea in Essex, but don't hold that against him. He soon learned the error of his ways and moved to beautiful Cornwall!

Being a Presenter is the only thing he ever wanted to do from when he was quite little! He used to sit by the record player introducing the songs and reading out requests to his mum when he was about 5.........aah bless!
He's still little, although a fair bit wider, and his sense of humour hasn't evolved much since he was 5, but he has realised his ambition and is now regularly to be heard on your radios from 6 to 10 every weeekday and from 11 to 2pm on Saturdays !

When Bob's not busy waking up Cornwall he spends his time talking to the world via Amateur Radio. Bob's Ham callsign is G0FGX, and he has a pretty comprehensive radio station at home and another in his car, which allows him to chat with other hams all over the globe.
His other hobbies are Cornish Real Ale and good food. He then tries to minimise the effects by taking long walks with his wife Eve and their Westie Phoebe around the beautiful Cornish countryside.

Neil Caddy Headshot

Neil Caddy

Neil was born in Cornwall and has never lived anywhere else ("Cornwall is the most beautiful place in the World" - Neil).

Neil spent a large part of his life as an athlete and used to regularly compete for Britain in competitions like European and World Championships - including the Athletics World Cup in Johannesburg in 1998. He still holds Cornwall records - most notably for 'the Mile'...with a time of 3mins55secs this is faster than even Sir Roger Bannister managed!

Neil joined Pirate in 1997 as a part-timer, and nowadays is the Programme Manager. Amongst his presenting and other Programming duties, Neil is responsible for scheduling the music that provides Pirate FM with REAL MUSIC VARIETY.

James Martin Headshot

James Martin

James was born at The Royal Cornwall Hospital, in 1976. By the age of 5 he was presenting TV programmes in front of the mirror. At the age of seven he was given a Network 737 Radio Cassette Recorder - and the making of (terrible) radio began. Whether it was newsreading, playing songs off his record player or big productions involving a handful of friends and including a multitude of sound effects and music - James filled up C90 after C90!

At 16, James began working as a freelance Broadcast Assistant in local radio whilst he did his A Levels. At 19 he started a Modern Apprenticeship (excellent scheme) in Print Production Origination, and achieved NVQ Level 3. During this time the radio bug was still nagging, so he joined Truro Hospital Radio as a volunteer, presenting a weekly show for 5 years, eventually becoming Programme Controller and then Chairman.

In the meantime, he came up with a plan to get his foot in the door of his favourite radio station, by joining the Pirate FM Listener Advisory Panel. This lead to training, some graveyard shifts and eventually cover work for Pirate FM. It developed over the next few years alongside James's full time job at a local print company (conveniently situated 100 metres down the road from the Pirate FM studios).

In February 2005 James was offered a full time position at Pirate FM and took the decision to make the career change to radio. Now James is the Producer of Bob McCreadie for Breakfast and cover presenter, filling in when any of the team are off. James also presents regularly on Saturday nights and Sunday mornings and can regularly be found around Cornwall brandishing a Pirate FM microphone.

James lives with his wife Claire and black and white rescue cat, Elvis. He enjoys socialising, walking, photography and has an active interest in technology, especially computers and the internet.

James Dundon Headshot

James Dundon

As a young man, James never thought about making a career out of radio. Originally he started as a volunteer for Truro Hospital Radio, then when he realized how he loved it, he did some voluntary work behind the scenes at the BBC, he was poached by Pirate in 2004, and worked part time while he completed a degree at the University College Falmouth.

The cheeky man is now entertaining the masses on air in the evenings and often found reporting live from community events throughout Cornwall.

Theres never a dull moment in Dundon's life. He's the kind of guy that's got a list of hobbies, he drums in a local covers band, oh, and he takes his organ out (he owns a Fairground Organ). Something he restored from a box of bits a few years ago. It's always best to smile and nod at James's impressive range of hobbies and activities!
