Tina Bessell

Hi, I'm Tina and I have 'winged' my way to Pirate FM as their newest presenter via a career in the RAF, and radio presenting with BFBS Cyprus.  After learning to fly at the University of London Air Squadron,  I joined the RAF as a pilot intially but served my career as an Intelligence Officer, much less of a danger to myself and others from the cockpit!

My Cornish connections stretch back to a family holiday aged 7 in Zennnor - I remember my brother catching a massive spider crab on the beach which we took back to the farm where we were staying and cooked it - it screamed - poor thing!

And then, at Uni, I spent 2 summers down here, flying from RAF St Mawgan, and organising parties on the beach.  When I met my now husband, also in the RAF, he brought me down to Cornwall to meet his Mum and we've been commuting up and down from all over the world for the past 13 years until we finally "came home" setttling in Cornwall a couple of years ago now.

My Likes:

Beach Walks - whatever the weather!

Meeting new people and finding out their stories - just nosey really!

Cooking and more importantly eating great food - with the odd glass of rosé.

My Dislikes:

Obnoxious people - there's just no reason for it!

Horror films - or even just Dr Who!
