Monday- Thursday every week at 7:30pm, we feature another local singer, duo or band on Pirate FM Unsigned.
Local artists have reported that after being on Pirate FM Unsigned, they have gained some great contacts, a big fan base, more gigs, and in a couple of cases, record label interest!

Formed in 2006 in Plymouth, this 5 piece are so passionate about their music, and provide instantly catchy songs from their rehearsal room that is a converted toilet!
Certainly a band to watch out for.

Giles Woolley or ‘G' is a guy who's in a local band in Cornwall, but this album that we've featured contains some really powerful instrumentals. He sits in his home studio, plays in the guitar, keys drums and other effects, multitracks it up with effects and produces some stunning and thought provoking bits of music.

Richard Thomas
This guy used to be in the band 'Sowenna' who won Cornwall Has Talent on Pirate FM a couple of years ago. the band now have separated because they've started going to Uni. Rich has gone into studio as part of his Uni course and dragged with him several musicians from the orchestra, meaning you get a great pop sound mixed with classical. BiteWing

The Trump Card Sleeves
They are Jamie-guitar/vocals, Dai- bass, Dan- drums and Burgers- keys. Burgers runs a music school in mullion, Dai runs a pizza deli in Portheven, Dan runs a music shop.

A singer-songwriter with a blend of pop, acoustic and rock. Tom, now 15, has been composing music since 2007 and first started learning the guitar when he was 7. These guys go down a storm wherever they perform, covering classics like Stevie Wonder, and rockin out with the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. As a covers band they do every song justice.

The Adventures Of
Adam on Vocals/Guitar, Mr Will Gee on Bass/Vocals, James on Drums and Ollie on Keys
When they do a performance, it is like nothing else you have ever seen. Magic, dancers and jugglers are just some of what is on stage along side them.
Only Moses
(AKA Simon Mosley) is a highly original solo artist based in Cornwall. The Birmingham born drummer moved to Cornwall nearly ten years ago, when he decided to give up music.
Some years later he began playing again, with local cover bands, now however, he has now become a one man band!
By simultaneously playing foot drums, guitars, octave bass and vocals he produces the sound of a full band, all by himself.
Tanya Strowger
She's been playing guitar, singing and writing for longer than she cares to remember! She is a Cornish girl who is staying in Ireland at the moment, but while on air at Pirate FM, she returned to our shores to get married in Carbis Bay, where she was born.

All the Fires
All the Fires play original music which tells a tale of open roads, maps and territories, bright skies, dark seas and love lost and found. This is the music you'd hear in the calm after the storm, combining a modern folk sentiment with a love of popular song.
The band boasts six songwriters, five singers alongside guitars, piano, cello, bass, drums, mandolin, glockenspiel and melodica, so expect lush harmonies and rich sounds.
Bhodazaffa
A 4 piece Rock band from Cornwall with the current line up since August 2008.
The band consists of three Cornish locals and the fourth, vocalist Dunk who was raised in the Caribbean completes the band. They have played frequently in Cornwall and so far have had a very positive reception from both crowds and press.
In May 2009 saw the band release their debut 4 track ep which was recorded and mixed by the band, with mastering duties left to JM Mastering (Klaxons, Sam Isaac), which is now on sale at gigs or available through myspace.
Jason Ratcliffe
Born in Woking and growing up in Cornwall, Jason has been into music and the way it moves people ever since he can remember. One day in 2002 he was given a classical guitar from his grand-parents but had no idea how to play it. A friend showed him some tasty (but simple) licks and riffs.
After moving down to Cornwall he took up lessons and gradually after a lot of hard work he's got to where he is now.
Ramblin Minor
Based in St Austell, Brett Damarell is a fulltime musician busking and gigging all over the place. With 8 albums recorded, and hundreds of songs penned.

Psychedelica
Formed in 2006 this 4 piece from St Ives do live shows with their own original tracks, as well as classic covers of Jimi Hendrix, Cream and Black Sabbath, along with technical guitar showpieces by Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert and Buckethead. All artists who have influenced them as they look to make a new fresh take on classic heavy guitar rock.
The Mickey Finn Band
Their lead guitarist was a sound engineer at the famous Abbey Road Studio's in london, so you know this band are going to be of high standard! These guys from Redruth are basicly a classic rock tribute band and gig all over the County.
The Neil Maya Quartet
These guys are rooted in the sounds of the cool jazz movement of the 50's and 60's, but loves playing other styles such as funk, samba, African and even folk rock.

Based in Liskeard, these three 16 year olds have just completed their GCSE's in Liskeard School and started the band just before Christmas last year.

Dan Fagg
Dan has been in a band since he was 12 years old and more recently been gigging as a solo artist.
He is what could be described as a 'Bedroom Artist' with all songs written and recorded from his home. He's played at a few open mic nights as a solo artist.
Josie and the Lovecats
A Cornish Band from North Cornwall, but these guys are really different as they are a three piece who play cello, keys and drums!
They've been together since January, but already have a list of songs they've written, as well as some covers they perform when they are out and about gigging live.

Kontrast
A 22 year old Hip-Hop artist/Writer from Cornwall. He started writing tracks at just thirteen, and began 'freestyling' and rhyming at a similar age. Growing up, as well as having a talent for music, he was also an extremely gifted footballer. So much so that he almost obtained a professional career.

Corsellis
A three piece from Saltash/ Plymouth. Their catchy songs are really well recorded.
The boys were really kind to help Pirate FM out with a charity gig for the Precious Lives Appeal, so the least we could do is have them on the radio in return!
The Doowops
An Emergency Department Doctor at the Royal COrnwall Hospital is part of a band in his spare time.
They are called the Doowoops because of the singalong style of their music.

These are four 14 year olds from Falmouth who have formed a band while studding for their GCSE's.
Considering their age, their impressive sound and quality recordings show how seriously and passionately these chaps take their music.

Polly Money
A singer song writer with Celtic blood, a Cornish heart and a love of music.
She wants to celebrate music in a classic singer-song writing tradition like Dolly Parton, Carol King, James Morrison and others.

Kitty and the Lost Boys
Originally hailing from South East London this girl fronted rock band have recently stormed the South West music scene and are making a lasting impression with their catchy pop rock songs and electric onstage performances.
