The clear up is underway after Cornwall was battered by a summer storm, sending huge waves crashing into shore.

A windsurfer hass been rescued off Rock. Lifeboat crews found her clinging to her board and gave her a lift back to Daymer Bay.

Mike Hewitt, RNLI Lifeboat Operations Manager at Rock, says people should always assess the conditions before going on to the water: "It's always a good idea to consider whether the conditions are suitable for your own ability and to seek out the latest weather forecast and tide information. This windsurfer was struggling with the prevailing conditions but did the right thing and waited with her board for help to arrive."

The Met Office had issued a severe weather warning for Cornwall of heavy rain and winds, with another in place for Friday.
