We've gathered a list of Cornwall's up and coming light switch ons, so whack on a bobble hat and come and get into the festive spirit!


Wednesday 21st November – Truro City of Lights Parade

30,000 people are expected to turn out at Truro’s spectacular lantern parade which starts at 7pm from the top of Lemon Street. See the Pirate FM Love Crew in Victoria Square on the parade route, and enjoy street performances around the city as well as the switching-on of the Christmas Lights!


Tuesday 27th November - St Austell Christmas Lights

See the Pirate FM Love Crew in White River Place where there’ll be live music, street entertainment and even dancing elves! It all kicks off at 4pm, with late night shopping and Pirate FM’s Scott Temple doing the big switch on at 6pm! 


Wednesday 28th November – Truro Reindeer Parade

Once again, Truro will welcome Santa and his real reindeer as they lead a parade through the city to mark the start of late night shopping. See the Pirate FM Love Crew in Victoria Square for festive fun and freebies, and catch a glimpse of the reindeer from 6pm before the parade sets off at 6.45pm.


Thursday 29th November – Falmouth Christmas Lights

Lucy from the Breakfast Show will be warming up the crowds before the switch on at 7pm.Come early to pick up a car sticker from the Love Crew and see the children’s parade leaving Events Square from 5.30pm, finishing on The Moor, where the local school children will perform Christmas songs and carols before the countdown.

Friday 30th November – Bodmin Christmas Lights

Neil from breakfast will be counting down the crowds on Mount Folly at 6.45pm. Arrive early to enjoy Santa’s Grotto from 5pm, the lantern procession from 6pm from the Old Library, and Christmas carols with Bodmin Town Band to follow.


Friday 30th November – Newquay Christmas Lights

See Lucy from Breakfast and the Love Crew at Newquay’s Festive Festival where there’ll be live music and entertainment in the high street, including fire breathers, stilt walkers, dancers, choirs and the magical lantern parade from 6.30pm. Join the big countdown at the bottom of Marcus Hill at 7pm and the firework finale at 8pm!


Saturday 1st December – Penzance Christmas Lights

Holly from Hometime will be by the Humphry Davy Statue at the top of Market Jew Street for the switch on at 4:30pm. Pick up a car sticker from the Love Crew and enjoy the Christmas market, entertainers, music and choirs throughout the day.


Friday 7th December – Wadebridge Skating Rink Launch

Join the Pirate FM Love Crew for the launch of Wadebridge skating rink on the Piazza where you can pick up a car sticker, enjoy festive tunes, and even have the opportunity to skate with Santa himself!
