Cornwall's incredible generosity is helping raise a smile for the poorly children spending Christmas in hospital.

Pirate FM has been on the wards at Treliske, handing out more presents from our Toy Appeal.

These youngsters are battling everything from suspected meningitis to cancer.

One little boy was not feeling up to it when Neil and Lucy from Pirate FM's Breakfast Show arrived.

However, play specialist Debbie Charles explained what a difference your donations have made:

"The minute we walked out of the room he burst into laughter.

"It's the first smile we've seen on his face for a very, very long time and he's now a very happy boy.

"I'd like to pass that on to all the listeners - thank you very, very much".

Your generosity to Pirate FM's Toy Appeal has helped children in hospital in Cornwall smile this Christmas

Pirate FM's Toy Appeal pulled in around 6,000 toys which have been handed out to a range of charities.

Debbie Charles added that the presents will make a difference to youngsters on the wards, all year round.

"For any children that actually visit us and are having problems or difficulties or even being in a hospital is a very unfriendly environment to them, so I'd just like to say thank you very much for that; all the presents will continue throughout the year".
