How Much Is Cornwall Countryside Worth?
11:05am 19th June 2013
Cornwall's views might not be priceless after all.
The new man in charge of protecting the Duchy's countryside wants to work out its value.
Alan Knight reckons that might help when decisions have to be taken about development and jobs.
He has just become chair of the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Environment Partnership.
Alan said: "Not a price tag, a value tag. Just how much is the coast, the beauty, the heritage worth to Cornwall? We don't actually have that number yet and I think that number will really inform important, long-lasting decisions.
"Cornwall's got, you know, a stunning, beautiful natural environment. It's also got some great natural resources. And it's got a great history and heritage. People are getting more and more interested in that."
