A list of Cornwall UFO sightings has been released by the Minstry of Defence.

People have reported seeing strange lights in the sky in Fowey, Delabole and Harlyn Bay.

In Davidstow an eyewitness reckons they spotted six bright lights rising one after another.

But UFO expert Doctor David Clarke reckons he has got an explanation.

David said: "During the summer, there was a fad for people releasing sky lanterns, at festivals and weddings. People were seeing these things and the tabloids were reporting their sightings and featuring photographs.

"The really big years, 1978, 1996, 1997, when films and tv programmes were raising people's awareness of UFOs. The biggest year of all, 1978, seven hundred and fifty reports around the time of Steven Spielberg's Close Encounters of the Third Kind."
