Flames and smoke have been seen billowing from a field just yards away from a Cornish school.
Crews told Pirate FM that they think the fire at Camborne rugby club was started on purpose.
They managed to stop it engulfing the hedge last night and police are investigating.
Police are investigating.
Corwall Fire and Rescue Service released this statement:
'Five firefighters were mobilised to a large pile of tree cuttings on fire on Camborne Rugby Football ground set alight by youths.
Crews initially used two hose reels and one triple extension ladder, at 19:39 crews requested a second appliance attend to help shuttle water to the scene from a near by hydrant.
Details of this incident have been passed to Devon and Cornwall Police.'
