A man has died after plunging a hundred feet from cliffs in Whitsand Bay.

He was left fighting for life in hospital with serious head injuries after it happened in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The man in his twenties was airlifted to Derriford by a helicopter from Chivenor.

He was thought to have been on the cliffs with a friend at around 2am.

It is one of a string of call outs for coastguards in Falmouth and Brixham over the sizzling weekend.
