Friends rally round to create a lasting tribute to a Par man, found dead in the street.

A murder inquiry has launched after Colin Palmer was discovered in Biscovey in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The 57 year old's family say they have been overwhelmed with support.

Landlord at The Carlyon Arms in St Austell Glyn Price says mates are raising cash for a plaque and euchre trophy: "It just shows how liked he was. He was known, not only in this pub, but all the other pubs in St Austell. Just a very nice person that you could never fall out with.

"Most people are absolutely devastated to hear that he lost his life in such a tragic way. It was a shock to everyone. They want to put a plaque on the wall to commemorate him and get a Euchre trophy to play for in the Euchre league."

Enquiries are continuing into his death.

One man is on police bail in relation to the incident.
