Teams have cut away the roof of a car near Bodmin to rescue a woman.

It is after it crashed into a petrol station at Fourwinds.

It was yesterday lunchtime that crews from the town got the call.

A man had managed to crawl free from the car after it ended up on its side, with the help of people nearby.

They had been travelling down the A30 when the vehicle ran out of control.

Teams say no fuel was spilt - and they managed to make the scene safe.

A spokesperson for Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said: "At 1248 Cornwall Fire And Rescue Service received a call to a Road Traffic Collision with one person trapped.

"One major pumping appliance and the Rescue Tender from Bodmin attended the incident and on their arrival found a single vehicle on its side next to a diesel pump on a garage forecourt.

"One person was found to be trapped in the vehicle. Crews used crash rescue equipment to release the casualty into the care of the Ambulance Service. They then commenced making the scene safe.

"There is no further information on this incident or the condition of the casualty."
