A consultation has started on the future of a Penzance hospital.

Poltair has been closed since last year.

Initially that was down to staff shortages but it now has been put under review.

Campaigners are fighting to re-open it amid fears bosses want to shut it permanently.

In a statement as the consultation was announced Peninsula Community Health said:

"Once the consultation has ended, a number of recommendations will be made to NHS Kernow’s Governing Body to agree. No advance decision has been made about the future of the hospital and the Governing Body will consider all options that are raised through the consultation."

Now a series of workshops and meetings has started.
