Tom Daley has revealed he made the first move on his new boyfriend.
The Plymouth teenager has been talking about coming out for the first time.
He is thought to be dating thirty-nine year old American screenwriter Dustin Lance Black.
The Olympic star tells the Jonathan Ross Show on ITV that it was love at first sight.
He also reveals that, after making this week's YouTube announcement, it feels as if he is the "true Tom" for the first time: “It felt like it was my dirty little secret. Like I had chains round me and I couldn’t say anything and I couldn’t be who I wanted to be. I felt so alone and trapped in who I was.”
He broke the news to his best friend first, followed by his family at his birthday bash in May.
The nineteen year old has not confirmed that the man in his life is the Oscar winner Black, but it has been widely reported around the world.
During the interview Tom, who says he is still attracted to girls, has revealed he found it hard to get a date: “I am used to, believe it or not, rejection when it comes to girls and dating. Honestly. Seriously."
He reveals he passed on a message saying "Call me" with a winky face and, the following day, he received a text message: "I hadn’t even talked to him and I was like OK, wow, I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t know if he was gay. I was just like - OK, this is weird.”
