Dramatic rescue footage has been released - showing two Cornish lifeboats battling to help a fishing boat off the Lizard.

Crews from Penlee and the Lizard were scrambled on Thursday night to the twenty metre Joy of Ladram.

Her gearbox failed more than thirty miles off the southerly tip of Cornwall in the pitch black.

Despite winds reaching up to forty miles an hour they managed to tow her safely back towards the mainland.
