Pirate FM has learnt that there is to be a fresh crackdown on rape and sex attacks in Cornwall.

Extra officers are being brought in to deal with cases after a rise in reports.

Some date back decades.

Chief Superintendent Julie Fielding is in charge of policing in the Duchy.

She tells us domestic violence is being made a priority too: "A lot of those reports are people that haven't come forward before so that's pleasing. We would want to know, obviously we want to know if people are victims of domestic abuse because there are a range of things, a range of interventions which can help them and then help bring offenders to justice."
