Cornish seabirds could get special protection.

A new marine zone is being proposed between Falmouth and St Austell bays.

It would help to make sure species like Black Throated Divers and Slavonian Grebes which come here for the winter are preserved.

Paul St Pierre speaks for the Duchy's RSPB: "It's not there to stop anything currently because the populations are actually seem to fairly healthy and there's been no changes in population. But the idea is what you need to do is when you start thinking about doing something in an area, you just need to take them into account and then those populations will be sustained in the future."
