Published by the Pirate FM News Team at 6:02am 30th April 2014.

Redruth has been named the most Cornish town in the Duchy.

It is based on data from the 2011 census when we were asked our nationality.

One in five answered "Cornish".

There were similar numbers in St Dennis, Illogan and Troon.

Saltash had the lowest number of people claiming to be Cornish - at just one in five.

It was one in ten in places including Tintagel, Bodmin and Mevagissey.

People responding to the question had to tick a box and write "Cornish" on the form.

You can check what the results are like where you live using the interactive map here.
