Royal Cornwall Show: 'Wall of Death' Rider Escapes Serious Injury

An investigation has started after a "wall of death" stunt at the Royal Cornwall Show went wrong.

Professional motorcyclist Ken Fox came off his bike in the middle of a show.

He was airlifted to hospital but escaped without serious injury.

Health and safety officials are looking into it.

Devon and Cornwall Police released the following statement on Saturday afternoon:

"At approximately 1220hrs on Saturday 7th June 2014 Devon & Cornwall Police received a report of a male motorcycle rider having been injured whilst riding on the 'Wall of Death' attraction at The Royal Cornwall Show, in Wadebridge, Cornwall.

Devon & Cornwall Police units attended the scene supported by the Ambulance Service. The male rider was transferred to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth by Air Ambulance."
 
The force added: "No other persons were injured as a result of this incident.

The scene of the incident has been secured for investigation purposes and the Health and Safety Executive have been informed."
