A French sailor has been rescued off Falmouth.

RNLI crews got the call in the early hours of this morning.

The lone yachtsman was exhausted and given a tow back to Falmouth Harbour.

RNLI bosses said: "Volunteer crew from Falmouth RNLI were called out by the Coastguard at about 1am on 10 June 2014 to a lone French sailor in difficulty 8 miles SE of Zone Point, Falmouth.

The lifeboat crewman used their smaller Y-Boat to board the yacht and assist with rigging a tow. The yacht was then towed back to the safety of Falmouth Harbour."
