Woman In 60s Attacked In Penzance

A woman in her sixties has been kicked and punched in Penzance.

She has got minor injuries after it happened at a shelter on the promenade in the early hours of Sunday.

A man wearing a hoodie swore at her then launched the attack.

Police want to hear from anyone who saw something.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "The 62-year-old local woman was attacked in a shelter on the Promenade in Penzance, near Alexandra Road, at around 2am on Sunday 20 July.

"A white man wearing a hooded top approached the woman, made an offensive comment to her and then kicked and punched her.

"He was seen running away in the direction of Newlyn.

"The woman suffered minor injuries as a result of the assault.

"Anyone who witnessed this offence, or has any information, is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference CR/091316/14."
