Cornish Mum Gives Tombstoning Warning
12:16pm 7th August 2014
A Helston mum tells Pirate FM her son is in big trouble after breaking his ankle tombstoning.
Twelve year old Lewis Bell and his mates were leaping from the top of the Pill Box in Porthleven.
They jumped across fifteen feet of jagged rocks.
The photos ended up in the national papers.
Now Catherine Bell is hoping the story puts others off trying it.
She tells us he is now in plaster for the next six weeks but knows it could have been far worse.
She said: "It has ruined his summer holidays.
"When I saw the pictures we were shocked, I just didn't think that was where they would even think about jumping from.
"Little did we realise he was jumping off right from the very top there, that was the first time he had done that and he said that it's the last time, he feels himself that he has had a lucky escape."12:16pm 7th August 2014
