Man Dies in Helston Crash

A crash on the Lizard claims a man's life.

Another has also been injured after two cars hit at St Keverne.

Police, fire crews and paramedics were scrambled after it happened near Zoar Garage on Monday morning.

Devon and Cornwall Police have released the following information: "Emergency services are currently at the scene of a serious road traffic collision near Helston.
 
"The collision involving two vehicles happened close to Zoar Garage at St Keverne at 10.15am today (18 August).

"Police, ambulance and fire are on scene.
 
"Road closures and diversions are in place. Police are advising motorists to find an alternative route for the time being"

A statement added:  "A man, aged in his fifites from the Helston area, has sadly died following the collision. A male passenger in the vehicle, a Reliant, was described as walking wounded and is recovering at home.

"The roads are likely to remain closed until the early evening and drivers are asked to avoid the area if possible.

"The other vehicle involved was a green Landrover. There are no mention of anyone sustaining injuries from this vehicle."
