A Cornish bride is walked down the aisle by the dad she thought would never walk again.
Phil Lawrence from Trewoon plunged twenty feet onto a concrete floor when she was little.
He broke his neck in two places and his back in four places, as well as cracking seven ribs and suffered several other serious injuries.
He was rushed to hospital by the Cornwall Air Ambulance.
Doctors reckon that saved his life.
It was feared he would be paralysed from the chest down but after years of physiotherapy has learnt to walk again with crutches.
Now he has been able to stand next to his daughter Cassie on her wedding day.
Cassie said: "I'm so, so proud of him, he literally is my hero, he was my hero when I was a child and he is definitely still my hero, seeing what life has thrown at him and how he has persevered, and still kept that cheeky personality, it is just brilliant.
"I remember when they said they didn't even think he'd survive the journey because his neck was pretty much hanging on by a thread, so the Cornwall air ambulance to get him to the hospital, which really obviously saved his life."
Dad Phil said: "A couple of days before when I noticed the water coming through the roof, I went up on the ladder with a sealant gun to see what I could do, and the next thing I remember I was waking up twenty feet below, I'd gone backwards through the sky light, twenty feet down onto the concrete base.
"Basically because of the air ambulance I was able to get to the hospital much quicker than a normal ambulance, and because of my neck condition it was a life saver, and because of the air ambulance I was able to have a life with my children growing up and see them growing up."10:49am 9th October 2014
