A fire has ripped through farm buildings on the Roseland.

Crews from St Mawes, Mevagissey, Truro and St Austell were called to Veryan first thing on Friday morning.

The blaze had spread to two barns.

A spokesperson for Cornwall Fire and Rescue said: "Crews from St Mawes, Mevagissey, Truro, St Austell as well as specialist vehicles are dealing with a barn 20 metres by 15 metres.

"The fire has spread to a second barn and crews are tackling the blaze using 3 jets and 6 sets of breathing apparatus.

"Animals have been released from the barns by the farmer and the fire crews."
