VIDEO: Two Men Airlifted To Safety In Newquay

Two young men have been winched to safety after getting cut off by the tide in Newquay.

They had been walking between Tolcarne and Lusty Glaze when the sea swept in around them.

Coastguards decided to send in a rescue helicopter from RNAS Culdrose because the sea conditions were too rough to get a lifeboat into them.

They were picked up around 2.30pm on Sunday and taken to shore to be checked over.

Neither was hurt.
