Man Seriously Hurt After Street Brawl

An attack in Launceston has left a man with a serious head injury.

The 24 year old is at Derriford, after being targeted outside a pub on Race Hill.

Police are urging anyone who saw what happened in the early hours of Sunday to come forward.

Two men arrested on suspicion of assault are out on bail.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "In the early hours of Sunday 23rd November a man was assaulted in Race Hill.

"The victim, a man aged 24 from Launceston, suffered a serious head injury and remains in Derriford Hospital undergoing treatment.

"Police would like to speak to anyone who saw an altercation in the pub around 00.15am or who saw an incident outside the pub a short time later around 00.30am.

"Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting reference 39 of 23rd November.

"Two men, aged 24 and 19, from Launceston were arrested on suspicion of assault and released on bail until January while enquiries continue."
