Gang Beat Man With Metal Bar

A man has been left with serious head injuries and a broken leg after being beaten with a metal bar in Bodmin.

The 33 year old was set on by a gang in a field next to the Bawden Road footpath.

It happened  between 10pm and 11pm last Tuesday. It is not clear why police have not released details till now.

They are trying to trace a cyclist who stopped to help.

He is described as a white man, aged 45 to 50, and was wearing fluorescent cycling clothing.

DC Chris Donald, based in Bodmin, said: “This was a very serious attack and we would like to speak to the cyclist as he may have vital information that could help us with our enquiries.

“We would also like to hear from anyone who may have seen a group of men acting suspiciously in the area.”
