Missing On Christmas Eve

Teams searching for a missing Redruth woman find a body.

71 year old Carol Hendy was last seen since yesterday lunchtime.

Police, coastguards and Search and Rescue Team's made the discovery at Porth Cadjack Cove

Her family have been told.

A police statement read: "At around 10.20am this morning, Wednesday 24th December, police searching for missing Elsie Hendy from Redruth, located the body of a woman at the bottom of cliffs at Porth Cadjack Cove, between Portreath and Gwithian.

"The body has been recovered and her next of kin have been notified of developments.

"She was reported missing having been last seen at 1pm yesterday (Tuesday 23rd December 2014) at her home address.

"Police, coastguards and Cornwall Search and Rescue Team conducted extensive searches throughout the night which continued this morning."
