Pub Attack In Plymouth

A Saltash man is seriously hurt after allegedly being punched and hit with a glass in Plymouth.

The victim in his thirties was rushed to hospital with a neck injury after it happened at The Junction pub in Mutley.

Officers want to talk to anyone who might have seen something on Saturday night.

A 27 year old man arrested on suspicion of assault has been released on bail.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault in Plymouth at the weekend which left a man seriously injured.

"The incident happened inside The Junction pub in Mutley, between 11.20pm and 11.40pm on Saturday 14 March.

"The male victim, 32, from Saltash, fell off the step near the pool table, onto the floor. As he stood up he was allegedly punched several times by another man before being hit with a glass. 

"He was taken by ambulance to hospital with a serious neck injury and minor facial injuries.

"A 27-year-old man from Plymouth was arrested on suspicion of assault and released on police bail until 11 May.

"Officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident."
