The man famous for cooking road kill in Cornwall has revealed he is planning to eat Dolphin over Christmas.

It is after Arthur Boyt, who lives near Davidstow, found a carcass washed up on the beach.

Experts warn it is illegal to take the creatures and it could be riddled with bacteria.

But the former marine biologist does not think there is anything wrong with it: "I haven't and would not endanger or harm any of these animals in any way. But one turns up on the beach - here's a big sackful of meat. Why let it rot or feed it to the birds or the crabs?

"If a gull walks up and eats it on the beach it's not prosecuted. If I walk up and take a piece home to eat it, what's the difference? I don't believe in these laws that restrict justifiable, ordinary freedom of activity."

Last Christmas Arthur, who has been eating road kill since he was 13, tucked into a badger casserole.

This year the 76 year old says he will be having turkey at his mother-in-law's on Christmas Day.

He plans to eat the dolphin over the festive period but has told Pirate FM his wife will not be joining him.
