£30,000 Coin Collection Stolen Near Penzance

A coin collection worth up to £30,000 has been stolen near Penzance.

The Royal Mint collection was taken from an isolated property in the Newbridge area.

It happened sometime between Saturday 7th May and Monday 9th May.

Police would like to hear from anyone who may have been offered a large collection of coins, or individual coins, and are suspicious about their origin and from anyone who may any information relating to the burglary.

The most valuable items from the collection were as follows:

1 Queen Elizabeth II gold sovereign 1998 - £715.00

1 Queen Elizabeth II gold sovereign 1979 Type 13 - £800.00

1 King George V Gold Sovereign 1926 - £800.00

1 Queen Elizabeth II Gold Half Sovereign 1989 - £745.00
