The search for the missing Dartmoor Lynx has run into its fourth day.

Flaviu the Carpathian lynx arrived at Dartmoor Zoo from Port Lympne in Kent on Wednesday.

On Thursday morning, keepers found that he had chewed through a board on the wall of his house to make his escape.

Staff, police and volunteers joined the search for the wildcat and a string of humane traps were laid.

On Thursday night, Flaviu was picked up by thermal imaging cameras attached to two police drones.

Teams laid more traps, baited with meat, near the farm but still no luck.

They described it as a "watching and waiting" game, which lasted through Friday and Saturday nights.

And it looks like the traps were disturbed on Saturday night. Posting on Facebook, the Zoo said its team had been out "replacing the baits."

They posted: "The Zoo will be open today at 10am and closing at 4pm. With some additional equipment for this evenings searches, we are remaining positive.

"If you are visiting us today, why not drop by our information desk in the Jaguar Restaurant for all our current updates.

"Thank you all for your continued support."

The search for the escaped Lynx has sparked a lot of interest.

Flaviu has his own Twitter feed which has almost 1000 followers. He has been tweeting lots of jokes and offered his services as a mascot for either Plymouth or Exeter football teams.

He has even been given the chance to appear on TV...
