A court has heard how a woman from Cornwall accused of murder had a "fascination with fire".

Karen Pedley from Carharrack denies killing a pensioner at a Truro care home.

Gladys Rowe was ninety-six - and died in a bedroom fire at Rosewyn House eight years ago.

The forty-three year old denies the charge along with thirteen counts of arson.

She also denies the attempted murder of Olive Ray - a woman in her seventies who shared a room with Mrs Rowe.

Truro Crown Court was told Ms Pedley won a trip on Concorde after saving her family from a blaze as a ten year old child.

The trial continues.
