PHOTOS: Camper Van Bursts Into Flames At Petrol Station

Bystanders have described a huge "boom" after a camper van caught fire at a petrol station in Newquay.

Emergency services were called to the Penhallow Services on Henver Road at around 3pm after reports that the camper van was on fire.

Police say the fire was contained by fire crews and there were no reported casualties.

The road was shut in both directions on Thursday afternoon.

A spokesperson from Cornwall Fire and Rescue said: "The Fire Service received a call to a camper van on fire on Henver Road in Newquay.

"Two appliances from Newquay were mobilised and a Wholetime Officer to this incident.

"On arrival the crews dealt with a camper van on fire at the entrance to a petrol station. Crews used 1 hose reel and 2 breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire.

"Police also attended for traffic management. Crews have now left scene."
