Woman Suffers Burns After Chip Pan Fire

A woman has been treated for burns after a chip pan fire near Wadebridge.

Crews from St Columb and Padstow were scrambled to St Eval on Thursday night.

The casualty had managed to put out the blaze.

Paramedics were also scrambled after she suffered injuries to her arm.

A spokesperson from Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said: "One major appliance and one L4P from St Columb and a second major appliance from Padstow attended this incident.

"On arrival crews discovered a chip pan fire that had been extinguished by the occupant.

"Crews investigated the smoke damaged area and gave first aid to the occupant who had suffered burns to her arm.

"An ambulance was requested and the occupant was left in the care of paramedic".
