Woman rescued from water in Falmouth

Emergency services have been scrambled to reports of a woman in difficulty in the water in Falmouth.

Police, the lifeboat and the Falmouth Coastguard Rescue Team got the shout to the Prince of Wales Pier.

A woman in her twenties was taken from the water and taken to Treliske Hospital on Saturday night.

A coastguard rescue spokesperson said: "The team was paged to respond to a report of a casualty in the water at the Price of Wales Pier, Falmouth.

"Both CRT and Falmouth ILB were stood down on station as police had resolved the situation."

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police added: "Police were informed at around 11:15pm Saturday 18th March of a person in difficulty in the sea near the Prince of Wales Pier in Falmouth.

"A female in her 20's was taken from the water and to Treliske as a precaution."
