Firefighters battle car blazes

Cornish firefighters have been scrambled to two car fires within hours.
Crews from St Dennis got the first shout to the A3058 at Tremewan on Thursday night.
They managed to use jets to put the vehicle blaze out.
A Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "One appliance from St. Dennis attended this incident, on arrival the crew found a car well alight, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two high pressure hosereel jets to extinguish the fire.
"Devon and Cornwall Police attended for traffic management."
Less than two hours later, a team from Padstow were called to another vehicle fire in Tregwina Lane, St Ervan.
A van was found alight as well as a fuel fire.
A spokesperson added: "On receipt of this call, one appliance from Padstow was mobilised, on arrival the crew found a van well alight and also a running fuel fire.
"Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two high pressure hosereel jets to extinguish the fires, crews were delayed for some time.
"Cornwall Highways were requested to attend due to damage to the road."1:52pm 21st April 2017
