PHOTOS: Cows rescued from slurry pit

Three cows have been rescued after getting stuck in a slurry pit in Cornwall.

Firefighters got the shout to Lerryn, near Lostwithiel, on Wednesday afternoon.

Crews managed to use rescue paths and lines to get the animals free.

A spokesperson for Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said: "Crews from Lostwithiel, the line rescue vehicle from Bodmin, and water rescue units from St Austell, were mobilised to reports of three cows stuck in a slurry pit.

"Firefighters used rescue paths, rescue lines and were assisted by the farmer’s telehandler to rescue the cows."
