A body has been found near cliffs in west Cornwall.

Police, coastguard rescuers, lifeboats and the rescue helicopter all got the shout to Land's End on Sunday morning.

It was after searches were carried out for a missing cyclist in the Mousehole area.

It is understood that the man had not been seen since Saturday afternoon when he went out along the coast.

A Maritime and Coastguard Agency spokesperson said: "At around 8.10am today (Sunday 18th June) Devon and Cornwall Police requested UK Coastguard assistance in the search for a missing person.

"Penzance and Land's End Coastguard Rescue Teams, Penlee RNLI lifeboats and the UK Coastguard search and rescue helicopter based at Newquay have carried out an extensive search in the Mousehole area."
