Police have put out a fresh warning about fake bank notes doing the rounds in three Cornish towns.

Officers are urging shopkeepers to be on the look-out for the dodgy £20 and £50 notes from Bank of Ulster.

Saltash PCSO Kirsty Down tweeted these pictures of notes seized in south-east Cornwall.

She posted: "Fake notes in circulation. Please DO NOT accept these and please call us if offered them".

It comes after Pirate FM told you about a warning from police in Bodmin, posted on Facebook.

Officers said they think the people behind it have Irish accents and are using the notes in Bodmin, Wadebridge and Padstow.

Anyone who spots something suspicious is being urged to get in touch, amid reports they are being used to buy low-value items.

Posting on Facebook, Bodmin Police Station said: "Please be aware that we have received reports of fradulent 'Bank of Ulster' (Irish notes) being circulated and used within Bodmin, Wadebridge and Padstow areas.

"The notes mentioned have so far all contain the same serial number - D1233901, however please be vigilant for other notes/serial numbers.

"The individuals involved are believed to have Irish accents and are purchasing low value items with forged £50 or £20 notes.

"If you are offered these notes please contact us on 101".
