Firefighters from two Cornish towns get the shout to rescue a horse that was stuck in a trench.

Crews from Delabole and Bodmin were called to St Kew just after 10am on Wednesday morning.

The animal was trapped 10-feet down but they managed to get it free.

Officials say the horse is safe and well.

A Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Crews from Delabole and Bodmin Community Fire Stations along with a whole time officer responded to a call of one horse stuck in a 10 foot deep trench.

"On arrival the crews cleared the area and rescued the horse.

"The horse, an unbroken mare, is safe and well recovering from its ordeal in the field."
